My Background & Experience |
|
I hold BFA degree in fine arts from the University of Tennessee. I also hold a BS degree in construction from the University of Florida.
I started my Home Inspection studies in 1995. I 've completed coursework and passed exams for NIBI certification (National Institute of Building Inspectors) and for ASHI certification (American Society of Home Inspectors).
I have been doing Home Inspection work since 1996 and have performed over 5,000 inspections.
I started out as an independent home inspector in Florida and received on-the-job training from a Home Inspection Franchise company. When I moved back to Missouri in 2000, I owned and operated a Home Inspection Franchise business before becoming an independent Home Inspector once again.
I have worked for myself as a contractor and have worked for other contractors in remodeling and new construction.
I am a member of ASHI in good standing. ASHI requires its members to adhere to the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
As a member of a local ASHI Chapter I am provided with current information regarding state regulations and requirements for both Kansas and Missouri.
I use a web based inspection report format developed by HomeGuage. The HomeGuage report follows the ASHI Standards of Practice for reporting on home systems.
I maintain licensing and registration in both Kansas and Missouri and follow requirements for operating a Home Inspection business in both states.
